James was born and raised near Meskanaw, Saskatchewan.
James received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2003. He received his law degree from the University of Adelaide in South Australia in 2006. He was certified by the National Committee of Accreditation in 2007 and admitted to the Law Society of Saskatchewan as a lawyer in 2008.
James worked at Kapoor, Selnes & Klimm in Melfort, Saskatchewan from 2007 to 2015. He joined Wardell Gillis in Saskatoon in May of 2015.
James has handled criminal and civil matters at every level of Court in Saskatchewan and has assisted with matters argued at the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal. He is a member of the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association and serves on the editorial board for BarNotes, the Canadian Bar Association’s Saskatchewan newsletter.
